As well as being able to accept all medical and surgical emergencies, specialty support is available such as Trauma, Obstetrics and Gynaecology, Paediatrics, ENT, and Ophthalmology. The Hospital is supported by a large modern Adult Critical Care Unit and a Stroke unit with dedicated stroke teams.

The appointment is offered on a permanent basis, with your principal place of employment being Glangwili General Hospital. Other working locations, including off-site working, may be necessary and will form part of your agreed job plan. This can be subject to change as the Health Board's clinical requirements are amended to meet the needs of the service/patients.

Main duties of the job To provide, with consultant colleagues (as appropriate), a service in Emergency Medicine and support the development of sub-specialty interests to the hospitals and community, with responsibility for the prevention, diagnosis, and treatment of illness.
As a senior employee of the Health Board, the post holder will work in close cooperation with and support other clinical, medical professionals, and managerial colleagues in providing high-quality healthcare to the Health Board's patients.

Full GMC Registration and Licence to Practice
On Specialist Register with GMC or CCT Or CESR due within 6 months of interview date
FRCEM
Valid Certified Advanced Life Support Skills
Appropriate Higher Degree e.g. MD, PhD or MSc or equivalent
Clinical Experience
Broad-based experience in Emergency Medicine
Knowledge of UK hospital systems (or equivalent)
