The area offers the best of both worlds - cosmopolitan city life and stunning countryside. The Gastroenterology team is a dedicated, motivated, forward-thinking, and friendly team. They provide general and specialist services to our patients with gastrointestinal and liver disorders, both benign and malignant, including irritable bowel syndrome, inflammatory bowel disease, enteral/parenteral nutrition, complex gastrointestinal disorders, and hepatology services. The department has excellent endoscopy facilities which are all JAG accredited. This includes a 3-room endoscopy suite at QHB and a 2-room endoscopy suite at SRP. They participate in the national bowel cancer screening programme across the Acute Hospitals. Substantive 10PA: Job Plan components for this post may be subject to change (with negotiation) but are currently (for a full-time post holder): DCC 7.75; SIFT 0.75; SPA 1.5. The successful applicant will join the existing vibrant and dynamic team of 5 Hepatologists and 14 Luminal Gastroenterologists at University Hospitals of Derby and Burton NHS Foundation Trust. The posts are suitable for StRs acquiring CCT or established consultants looking to subspecialise within a large department. Trust Information Hospitals see more than 4,000 outpatients daily. Key Responsibilities: Provision of elective and non-elective medical Gastroenterology / Hepatology services and advice to the population and other healthcare organisations for Derbyshire / Staffordshire and the surrounding areas. Ability to offer expert opinion & take full & independent responsibility for clinical care of patients across the wide spectrum of Gastroenterological disorders. Experience of General Medicine. Qualifications: Possession of MRCP. Full GMC registration with a license to practice. Eligible to reside & work in the UK. MBBS or equivalent. Full GMC registration with a license to practice at date of commencement OR within 6 months of receipt of Certificate of Completion of Training (CCT) at time of interview (Can support Locum Consultant fixed term salaried contract).
