The job plan comprises 8 sessions including 2 sessions for supporting professional activities (SPAs). The job plan will incorporate consultant of the week cover for NICU and special care. There will be commitments for resident tier 3 weekend and evening cover, and non-resident night cover on call. The post holder will also contribute to 24 hours Welsh neonatal transfer service, and outpatient clinics. The number of sessions and /or the balance of direct care sessions (DCCs) and SPAs may subsequently vary with the agreement of the post holder and the Health Board but based on the needs of the department, and will require agreement at job planning. There is no responsibility for general paediatric services. Candidates with special interest and expertise are welcome if they are compatible with the current work of the department.
