We are currently seeking a dedicated and experienced Consultant in Old Age Psychiatry to join our team in Caernarfon, Caernarfonshire. In this role, you will provide clinical leadership and expertise in old age mental health, supporting the delivery of comprehensive psychiatric services to older adults in the local community. This is an exciting opportunity to make a significant contribution to mental health care provision while advancing your career in old age psychiatry. The post on offer will be an immediate start for an ongoing period of 2 months, working full-time hours (40 hours per week). Start ASAP for an initial period of 3 months. Key Responsibilities: Providing expert psychiatric assessment and diagnosis for older adults with a wide range of mental health conditions, including dementia, depression, anxiety, and psychosis. Developing and implementing individualized treatment plans based on evidence-based practices and clinical guidelines. Providing leadership and clinical supervision to multidisciplinary teams to ensure high-quality and coordinated care delivery. Participating in multidisciplinary team meetings and clinical reviews to contribute to the development and review of patients’ care plans. Providing education and support to older adults and their families on mental health conditions and treatment options. Collaborating with external agencies to facilitate integrated care pathways and improve access to services. Participating in quality improvement initiatives and clinical audits to enhance care provision. Requirements: Medical degree and completion of specialist training in old age psychiatry, with full registration with the General Medical Council (GMC). Substantial post-qualification experience working as a Consultant Psychiatrist in old age mental health services. Excellent leadership and communication skills. Commitment to delivering person-centered care. Knowledge of relevant legislation and best practices in old age mental health care. Willingness to participate in on-call duties and attend meetings as required. Section 12 Approved Clinician. How to Apply:
