CONSULTANT IN OLDER ADULT PSYCHIATRY

EAST SECTOR

1.0 WTE (40 hours per week)

£96,963 - £128,841 per annum pro rata

We seek to appoint a permanent Older Adult Psychiatry Consultant to join our dedicated team for older adult mental health services in the Highlands. The post holder will provide consultant input to our community team covering Mid Ross (Dingwall, Strathpeffer) and Easter Ross (Alness, Invergordon, Tain) for both primary and organic mental disorders. The post is supported by a well-developed community mental health team, with an experienced Associate Specialist supporting nurse-led care home liaison. The post holder will be based at the New Craigs Hospital site, where inpatient care is provided, and will participate in the Consultant on-call rota (1:15).

The post holder will be supported by a cohesive and collegiate group of clinicians and will participate in CPD and peer supervision. Consultant peer groups meet regularly, and there are educational events organized as part of our in-house program.

Interested applicants should contact Dr. Dirk Maliepaard, Clinical Lead for Older Adult Psychiatry, New Craigs Hospital, Inverness at dirk.maliepaard@nhs.scot or 01463 704650. Prospective applicants are welcome to arrange an informal visit.

NHS Scotland is reducing their full-time working week from 37.5 to 37 hours per week from 1 April 2024, but with no change in pay. This reduction will also be applied pro rata for part-time staff. This advert and any subsequent offer/contract of employment therefore reflects the new working hours. However, as not all service areas will be able to adopt the 37-hour working week immediately from 1 April 2024, you may be required to work up to an additional 30 minutes per week temporarily, for which you will be paid until the service you are working in changes rosters or working patterns to accommodate the new reduced working week. If you have any questions or concerns, please contact the Recruiting Board. #J-18808-Ljbffr
