Consultant in the East Midlands, UK .
(Locum Consultant Contract can also be offered) Join the dynamic team in the East Midlands and be part of a vibrant healthcare community dedicated to delivering high-quality care to patients. There are currently 7 stroke specialist consultants within the Centre, supported by a team of junior doctors in training grades, Clinical Nurse Specialists, and a well-established multidisciplinary team of stroke-specific allied health professionals. The area offers the best of both worlds - cosmopolitan city life and stunning countryside. Trust Information Hospitals see more than 4,000 outpatients daily. See more Trauma & Orthopaedic outpatients than any other Trust - over 3,300 per week. An average of 860 patients are seen in A&E every day - 6th largest in the country. Hospitals admit more than 220 emergency patients daily. Carry out more planned surgical operations than any other Trust in England with almost 50,000 operations taking place in our 52 operating theatres. One of only 5 Trusts nationally with more than 50 operating theatres. Carry out more than 300 elective procedures each working day. What’s on offer for you? Salary scale between £105,504 and £139,882. Full comprehensive relocation package on offer for a substantive contract. Generously funded study leave is available. Cycle to work scheme. Blue light discounts. Key Responsibilities: Maintenance of the highest clinical standards in the management of a Stroke Service. Share with colleagues, responsibility for the day-to-day management and out-of-hours provision of a high quality, consultant-led Stroke & TIA Service. Teaching & training of junior medical staff and medical students. To actively participate in both departmental & Trust matters concerning Clinical Governance & audit. To have responsibility for ensuring active participation in continuing medical education (CME). Requirements to Apply: Full GMC Registration with a license to practise. Entry on GMC Specialist Register. Within 6 months of receipt of Certificate of Completion of Training (CCT) in General (Internal) Medicine, Geriatric Medicine, Neurology, Acute Medicine, or Rehabilitation Medicine at the time of interview.
