The ENT Directorate has dedicated outpatient facilities in the Royal Gwent, Nevill Hall and Ysbyty Ystrad Fawr Hospitals. The existing department in the Royal Gwent Hospital has been open for 22 years, with six consultation and two treatment rooms.
Main duties of the job
A full range ENT is carried out in the department, with a complement of 14 inpatient beds in Grange University Hospital and a dedicated day case theatres in the Royal Gwent Hospital. Close relationships are maintained with Oral and Maxillofacial Surgery Restorative Dentistry, Radiotherapy, Pathology and Dermatological Departments. There is an active Postgraduate Centre.
The suitably qualified clinician will have the opportunity to join a 1:8 on call rota.

This position involves Regulated Activity with children and adults as defined by the Safeguarding Vulnerable Groups Act (amended by the Protection of Freedoms Act 2012) and the following checks will be undertaken following any conditional offer: Enhanced check with barred list information, including -an adults and children's barred list check. Applicants must hold full registration and a licence to practice with the GMC.
Candidates for Consultant posts must also be on the GMC Specialist Register (including via CESR/European Community Rights) or will have a CCT/CESR(CP) date within 6 months of interview.
