A full-time post as Consultant in Plastic Surgery & Burns is available at Buckinghamshire Healthcare NHS Trust, based at Amersham Hospital, but with clinical commitments at High Wycombe General Hospital, Stoke Mandeville Hospital and potentially at the other peripheral hospitals our department serves. On-call will be based at the acute site (Stoke Mandeville Hospital) but covers all the hospitals in the Trust. There is also scope for collaborative working with our neighbouring trusts and plastic surgery departments, as part of the Integrated Care Partnership. Applicants should be on the GMC Specialist Register, or within 6 months of achieving CCT at the time of interview. Planned AAC Interview Date is Thursday 20 February 2025. Main duties of the job

This is a new post in a busy general plastic surgery and burns department that has a broad referral base. A key part of this post is to support the running and development of The New Skin Centre at Amersham Hospital. The focus is on skin cancer treatment and the integration of the delivery of care with the Dermatology team while working in an adjacent footprint. The acute aspect of this post has an emphasis on supporting senior cover for our regional burns unit (part of the London and South East England Burn Network) and the general acute plastic surgery on-call (adults & Paediatrics). The on-call commitments will include 1 week in 9.5 consultant-led acute cover. Duties and responsibilities: Plastic surgery and burns service responsibilities including on-call (1 week in 9.5) Outpatient clinics at Stoke Mandeville Hospital, Wycombe General Hospital, Amersham Hospital and possibly other peripheral hospitals Operating (emergency and elective) Care of inpatients and outpatients Clinical and other administration as required by agreement Other SPAs are available for roles such as teaching and training of junior staff and undergraduates (including educational and clinical supervisor roles). Participation in Clinical Governance Departmental role within the team and or specifically Amersham Skin Centre Person specification

Experience of teaching doctors-in-training and undergraduates Experience of clinical audit, research & quality improvement projects Knowledge of the NHS Management & Leadership training course and experience Experience

General training in plastic surgery Extensive years WTE minimum in recognised training post Ability to make good decisions at consultant level Education, Qualifications & Training

General training in plastic surgery and burns CCT in Plastic Surgery OR Registration on GMC Specialist Register in Plastic surgery. OR within three months of achieving CCT at the time of interview Fellowship or comparable training as demonstrated by logbook in skin cancer Fellowship in burns management or comparable training as demonstrated by logbook Recognised as an educational trainer by the GMC Trust 'CARE' Values
