What the role involves

  • Provide high-quality psychiatric assessments and treatments to older adults within the community and inpatient settings.
  • Work collaboratively with multidisciplinary teams, including psychologists, nurses, and social workers, to ensure comprehensive patient care.
  • Offer expert guidance on the management of mental health conditions in older adults, including dementia, depression, and other related disorders.
  • Managing risk, ensuring the safety and well-being of patients.
  • Contribute to the development and implementation of care plans, taking into consideration the individual needs of patients.
  • Supporting to junior medical staff and contribute to the continuous professional development of the team.

Skills and requirements

  • Full GMC registration and license to practice.
  • Proven experience working as a Consultant Psychiatrist with a focus on Old Age Psychiatry.
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
  • Ability to work effectively within a multidisciplinary team.

  • We are currently seeking a Consultant Psychiatrist with expertise in Old Age Psychiatry to join an established team in Cornwall.
  • This role involves working within Community Mental Health Teams (CMHT)/Inpatient settings, requiring Section 12 approval.
