What the role involves
- Provide high-quality psychiatric assessments and treatments to older adults within the community and inpatient settings.
- Work collaboratively with multidisciplinary teams, including psychologists, nurses, and social workers, to ensure comprehensive patient care.
- Offer expert guidance on the management of mental health conditions in older adults, including dementia, depression, and other related disorders.
- Managing risk, ensuring the safety and well-being of patients.
- Contribute to the development and implementation of care plans, taking into consideration the individual needs of patients.
- Supporting to junior medical staff and contribute to the continuous professional development of the team.
Skills and requirements
- Full GMC registration and license to practice.
- Proven experience working as a Consultant Psychiatrist with a focus on Old Age Psychiatry.
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
- Ability to work effectively within a multidisciplinary team.
