We have an exciting opportunity for a Consultant Psychiatrist to join our healthcare team at HMP Lindholme, a Category C/D men's prison located near Hatfield Woodhouse, Doncaster. The site houses around 1000 male patients, and as the sole Psychiatrist for the site, you would see on average 6-8 patients per day. Within this role, you would be working closely with the full multidisciplinary team, including GPs and Psychologists. Suitable applicants will have a good working knowledge of the NICE safer prescribing guidance.

Hours

This role is 3 days a week from 8 am to 4 pm. Applicants must be able to work Mondays and Tuesdays as well as one additional day between Wednesday and Friday. There may be an opportunity within the role to complete some of the administration work remotely.

Salary

This position is part-time, working 24 hours per week. You will receive an annual salary of up to £182,778 per annum FTE, depending on experience.

Main Duties of the Job As a Consultant Psychiatrist, your responsibilities will vary. You will:

Provide excellent clinical care, assessment, and treatment to patients on the caseload onsite.

Actively participate in the strategic direction of the mental health service, lead the senior mental health clinicians on service developments, and provide clinical supervision.

Work within the multi-disciplinary team to review referrals, determine appropriate treatment plans, conduct risk assessments, and engage in multi-professional complex case reviews.

Qualifications Required

Registered professional with current registration (GMC)

Specialist Registration in either General Adult or Forensic Psychiatry

Approved under section 12 (2) of the MHS 1983

Understanding of the complexities of multi-disciplinary and multi-agency working

Up-to-date knowledge in adult psychiatry and PD

Awareness of current issues in mental health service provision, policy, and legislation
