Working at the well-renowned Weymouth & Portland, you will be working as part of a fantastic team of healthcare professionals who will be making a massive difference to the lives of very vulnerable children and young people. As a consultant, you will be a pillar of knowledge and expertise for your colleagues, and use your experience to help treat children and young people up to the age of 18 with a range of mental health conditions such as autism spectrum disorder, depression and eating disorders. Main Duties/Responsibilities As a Consultant Psychiatrist for CAMHS (Learning Disability), with Dorset Health Care NHS Trustyou will: Provide treatment for families, children and adolescents, tailored to individual needs in a multi-disciplinary setting. Assess families, children and adolescents who present with a mental heath issue and have a learning disability aged 5 to 18 years old. Consult and collaborate with other agencies in the assessment and treatment of complex cases. Meet and consult with other members of the team and members of the Children’s Health Services, which includes Community Paediatricians. Plan and co-ordinate mental health services for children, adolescents and families where appropriate. Prepare professional assessments and report on those children or young people known to you. Participate in medical audit and evaluation. Qualifications/Licenses/Certifications MB BS or equivalent medical qualification. Fully registered with the GMC with a license to practice at the time of appointment. Included on the GMC Specialist Register OR within 6 months. Approved clinician status OR able to achieve within 3 months of appointment. Approved under S12 OR able to achieve within 3 months of appointment.
