The post holder will be responsible for providing consultant input into the care of people open to Conwy CMHT. All referrals to the community Team are managed by a single point of access. The post holder will be expected to comply with the Mental Health (Wales) Measure 2010. Main duties of the job

The post holder will provide specialist psychiatric assessment, treatment and management for adults aged 18 upwards with serious and enduring mental illness in Conwy. The post holder will provide medical input to patients under secondary care CMHT when required by the care coordinator as well as provide consultation and supervision for Primary Mental Health Services in their catchment area. The post holder will be based with the CMHT and work with the county manager to ensure clinical leadership of the multi-disciplinary team. Qualifications

MB BS or equivalent medical qualification. MRCPsych or MRCPsych equivalent approved by the Royal College of Psychiatrists. Fully registered with the GMC with a licence to practise at the time of appointment. Included on GMC Specialist Register or within 6 months of completing CCT. Approved Clinician status or able to achieve within 3 months of appointment. Approved under S12 or able to achieve within 3 months of appointment. Clinical Skills

Evidence of training in the core and specialist competencies for community psychiatry. Experience in leading a multi-disciplinary team. Experience of community psychiatric practice.
