This is a post for either a full-time or part-time Consultant Psychiatrist who will be responsible for providing clinical input and leadership to a proportion of the inpatients in Juniper Ward Farnham Road Hospital as part of the Acute Care Pathway. There are other opportunities to take on additional responsibilities with remuneration. The consultant Psychiatrist is responsible for providing clinical input and leadership and working alongside a multidisciplinary team in line with New Ways of Working.
This job attracts a Recruitment and Retention payment of £25,000 in addition to £8000 relocation allowance. The Recruitment and Retention payment is pro rata for part time employees. Main duties of the job
Work closely with the home treatment and community teams to ensure effective and efficient pathways and care for patients, consistent with models recommended in the National Service Framework. Provide Consultant Psychiatrist input and Responsible clinician cover for the 10 beds of the 18 bedded Juniper Ward, serving the population aligned to the wards. Collaborate with the other consultant and work closely with the multi-disciplinary staff on the ward, including trainee doctors. Deliver consultant psychiatric input to inpatients admitted to the ward per the agreed Acute Service Operational Policy.

Qualifications
Essential MB BS or equivalent recognised medical qualification Full medical registration with a license to practice. Approval under Section 12 of the Mental Health Act (or within 6 to 12 months of the time of interview/assessment) or equivalent
Desirable Relevant higher degree, e.g. MD, PhD, MSc or other additional clinical qualifications MRCPsych or equivalent Management qualification or evidence of an interest in developing leadership skills.
Eligibility Essential Fully registered with the GMC with a licence to practise at the time of appointment. Included on the GMC Specialist Register OR within six months.
