It is expected that the appointed candidate will work closely with the home treatment and community teams to ensure effective and efficient pathways and care for patients. This provides a service consistent with models initially recommended in the National Service Framework. The home treatment team 'gate keeps' admissions to the inpatient units. The successful candidate will also provide Consultant Psychiatrist input and Responsible clinicians cover for the 10 beds of the 18 bedded Juniper ward, mainly serving the population aligned to the wards. In addition, another 0.6 whole-time equivalent substantive consultant psychiatrist on the ward is responsible for 8 beds. It is expected that the appointed candidate will work in partnership with the other consultant. In addition, the post holder will work closely with the multi-disciplinary staff on the ward, including trainee doctors. The successful applicant will deliver consultant psychiatric input to inpatients admitted to the ward per the agreed Acute Service Operational Policy. Our offer:
