To provide Responsible Clinician duties to up to 23 Low secure rehabilitation inpatients. Responsibilities include: Manage, appraise & give professional supervision to junior medical staff in accordance with the Trust’s personnel policies and procedures. Undertake administrative duties associated with the care of patients. Record clinical activity accurately & comprehensively, and submit this promptly. Participate in service and business planning activity for the locality, and as appropriate, for the whole mental health service. Participate in annual appraisal for consultants. Attend & participate in the academic programme of the Trust. Maintain professional registration with the General Medical Council, Mental Health Act Approved Clinician Status, and abide by professional codes of conduct. Participate annually in a job plan review with the clinical manager. Work with local managers & professional colleagues in ensuring the efficient running of services, and share with consultant colleagues in the medical contribution to management. Comply with the Trust’s agreed policies, procedures, standing orders & financial instructions.

Assume role of RC, take clinical responsibility for the in-patients, and lead the multi-disciplinary team to deliver the Care Programme Approach review meetings. The appointee will maintain approval as an Approved Clinician and under Section 12 of The MHA 1983 (amended 2007).
Involved in out of hours on-call at Rochdale for General Adult Working age patients.
Maintain good standards with CPD and Royal College of Psychiatrists requirements.
Participate and contribute to Clinical Governance, Quality Improvement, and supervision of trainees.
