Priory Hospital Bristol is an elegant 18th century country residence set in beautiful parkland close to the centre of Bristol, less than 5 minutes away from the M32 leading directly onto the M4/M5 motorway. Bristol is part of the Healthcare Division of Priory Group, which has 77 beds over seven wards varying from Eating Disorders, Acute Mental Health, Adult Psychiatric Intensive Care, Acquired Brain Injury, Huntingdon’s and Dementia. This is an employed post to take consultant responsibility for general psychiatry and addiction patients coming to the hospital from referrals from the NHS and private (self-funding and Private Medical Insurance (PMI)). You will be the consultant for on average 6 patients on the private ward. Other visiting consultants (VC’s) have admitting rights to the private ward. Duties also include providing outpatient assessments for both new and follow-ups. There will be an expectation that urgent slots will be provided if needed. You will be the Consultant for day patients that are allocated to the Consultant. The ward has a Multidisciplinary Team including a sessional Specialty Doctor. You will hold a CCST / CCT (or equivalent) in the relevant areas of Psychiatry and will have experience of working in inpatient and outpatient settings with people with significant mental health difficulties. You will have experience at consultant level psychiatry and will have held a consultant position in the NHS. You will hold a current license to practice and be on the appropriate specialist register. MRCPsych or equivalent AC approved and S12 approved MHA 1983 Previous experience as an NHS consultant Acute inpatient and outpatient experience CCT in General adult psychiatry Experience in working with a multi-disciplinary team and being a clinical leader Experience of supervising junior medical staff Experience of working with a management team Experience of service change and improvement Experience of involvement in clinical governance and improvement What we’d like to give you:
