They are looking for a Consultant who specialises in Stroke Medicine on either a substantive or NHS Fixed Term basis. This Trust is located in one of the most outstandingly beautiful countrysides in Northern England where many people visit to relax and unwind.
This is a full-time position which supports sub-specialty interests. The department will look at options of providing specialty cover through a departmental job plan if a strong candidate has an interest in other areas that fit into the elderly medicine strategic vision for the Trust. The Acute stroke unit has 23 beds and the stroke rehabilitation unit has 22 beds; there are no long-stay beds.
The following is required to be eligible for this post: Primary Medical Degree Full GMC registration (ESSENTIAL) GMC specialist registration or within 6 months of being eligible in General (Internal) Medicine and Geriatric Medicine. MRCP or equivalent Well-developed effective leadership and management skills Recent clinical experience in Stroke and General Internal Medicine
Additional information: This is a 10.5 programmed activity (PA) post, with 8.0 PA set aside for Direct Clinical Care (DCC) and 2.5 PA for Supporting Professional Activities (SPA). 1:6 weekend cover. You will be joining a dedicated and passionate multidisciplinary team who are committed to making our Stroke Pathway a reference point of excellence in the Northwest and indeed in the country.
