Content Writer - 6 Month Contract Job Description:
We’re looking for a talented and experienced content writer to create multi-format content for our global audience of small businesses and accountants.
Reporting to the content craft lead, you’ll take responsibility for ideating and writing content that supports our global integrated campaigns, aligned to our strategic objectives. As part of the global content team, you’ll also collaborate with our country content managers to create always-on content on our key topics for the same audience. Across both responsibilities, you’ll be working to grow Sage’s reputation as a trusted partner and thought leader to small business owners and accountants worldwide.
You need to be fully devoted to the reader, placing a strong priority on ensuring content is relevant, clear, and compelling. Sometimes, this means challenging the briefs you’re assigned and negotiating with stakeholders to ensure our work always provides high value to our audience. You’ll also need to immerse yourself in the worlds of small business and accountancy to gain a deep understanding of challenges and experiences.
Above all, you’ll need to be dedicated to your craft, and have a natural talent to write prose that feels organic, substantial, and genuinely engaging.
Location:
Hybrid, 3 days per week out of our Newcastle office. Key Responsibilities: Interrogating, negotiating, and executing content briefs to develop a wide range of campaign assets, including blog articles, industry reports, video scripts, and emails. Crafting compelling content narratives that align with campaign objectives, deliver value to our audiences, and enhance the reader experience. Writing and updating Sage Advice blog content for English-speaking regions. Optimising and localising blog articles for improved search performance based on SEO recommendations. Conducting thorough research to stay informed on relevant trends and insights. Championing our tone of voice and collaborating closely with our copy editor to ensure all content meets the highest editorial standards. Working alongside teams such as social media, country content managers, and customer stories to drive engagement across channels. Managing content workflows on platforms like Workfront and Skyword. Liaising with stakeholders to align on content requirements and deadlines. Prioritising tasks for ad-hoc requests and confidently presenting ideas and projects to teams and stakeholders across the business. Who We’re Looking For: You should have a strong portfolio of content marketing and/or copywriting projects that demonstrate your ability to inform, engage, and inspire audiences. We’re looking for a strategic and creative thinker who deeply considers the context surrounding any single piece of content and balances that with creative execution that makes our content truly resonate. Collaboration and communication are key. You’ll be working with a lot of people across several marketing teams, and you’ll be relied on for your craft expertise and guidance. You’ll have the confidence to own your content, backing up your ideas and presenting them to stakeholders. You’ll also need to be self-motivated to break down silos and build a network of peers that can help you make your content the best it can be. When it comes to your craft, you should be skilled in crafting compelling narratives with a clear point of view and distilling information into clear, concise writing—no matter whether it’s a video script, blog article, or e-book you’re creating.
