Your Role

Are you passionate about driving change and fostering innovation? James Walker Cockermouth has a vacancy for a Continuous Improvement Manager, you'll be at the forefront of transforming our operations and culture. As the CI Manager you will lead the site in identifying opportunities for enhancement and implementing cutting-edge methodologies like Lean and Six Sigma.


Key Responsibilities

  • Support the Operations management in identifying and delivering specific performance improvement initiatives resulting in improved efficiencies and cost reductions whilst also raising the standards of manufacturing performance, quality and output
  • Manage and oversee continuous improvement projects to successful conclusion and implementation. Initiate and lead problem solving efforts working closely with internal and external stakeholders
  • Communicate and involve all stakeholders in improvement initiatives and ensure buy-in
  • Develop site wide teams on continuous improvement principles through effective coaching, lean workshops, team improvement projects and continuous improvement events
  • Promote CI activities within the business keeping people abreast of changes that are being made
  • Generate improvement plans and ensure all CI activities are monitored, tracked and progressed in line with operational commitments/KPI’s
  • Benchmark best practices to measure and improve organisation performance
  • Work closely with Operations management in helping to address bottle necks in processes and systems
  • Develop and deliver training on CI tools and techniques throughout the business
  • Provide cost benefit data to support CI activities


About you

Essential Experience

  • Solid experience of delivering continuous improvement projects.
  • Proven track record in sustainable improvements
  • Working with people at all different levels
  • Influencing and seeking buy-in from others
  • Implementing lean principles and processes


Preferred Experience

  • Strong related manufacturing operations management and process analysis and improvement experience.


Qualifications:

Essential Qualifications

  • Lean Six Sigma Green Belt or above


Preferred Qualifications

  • Diploma / Degree qualified in related engineering or operational bias subject matter.
  • IOSH Managing Safely
