Contracts Manager – Construction
Worcester based with a balance of home and office working
£72,955 - £76,795 per year plus Company car or car allowance
40 hours per week – Monday to Friday
We are seeking a Contracts Manager – Construction to join our team based in Worcester. The role sits within the Development Department within the housing construction team for the Midlands and North. This is a challenging and exciting role that will see you communicating with a range of people across the business and coordinating workload effectively. The role of Contracts Manager – Construction will include:
H&S for all site activities, ensuring the sites are run in line with H&S policy and procedures and to H&S law
Controlling of project programme, reporting progress and delays. Ensuring that provisions are put in place to gain back lost time and speaking with sales/development in regard to handovers
Ensuring all documents including section agreements, handover documents, warranties are in place for handover
Understanding and input into project costs. Working with the QS to ensure projects are brought in on budget
Providing input into variation costs and helping the project team understand what is required when variations appear
Line management of several site management staff. Organising all HR issues and approving annual leave, mileage and other items
Skills and experiences:
Ability to programme projects, look into delays and make target programmes to gain back lost time
Ability to understand and question costs and interrogate quotes and invoices
Good communication and happy to converse with both contractors and clients
Good understanding of H&S legislation and will strive to achieve best practice
Previous experience working in the construction sector either from a site base or technical role
Good time management
This role will involve driving on company business. In order to drive a company vehicle, drivers must hold a full valid UK driving licence

The full time equivalent salary for this role is £56,718 with an additional policy allowance of £7,118 based on 35 hours per week rising to £59,703 with an additional policy allowance of £7,492 after 12 months service and subject to satisfactory performance.
