7:30 AM - 5:00 PM Company Overview: A leading civil engineering firm specialising in residential and commercial groundworks as well as civil infrastructure projects. Renowned for delivering high-quality projects on time and within budget, the company prides itself on maintaining strong relationships with clients and stakeholders. Role Overview: The Contracts Manager will oversee approximately 30 ongoing projects, with additional jobs in the tendering stage. Reporting to the Senior Contracts Manager, you will play a pivotal role in ensuring the successful delivery of projects across the Home Counties region, adhering to health and safety regulations, timelines, and budgets. Key Responsibilities: Project Management:

Manage and oversee multiple projects simultaneously, ensuring they are delivered on time, within budget, and to the required quality standards. Team Coordination:

Lead and mentor site teams, including Site Managers and Engineers, fostering a culture of collaboration and performance. Client Liaison:

Act as the primary point of contact for clients, maintaining strong relationships and ensuring satisfaction. Budget Management:

Monitor and control project budgets, addressing variations and ensuring profitability. Health & Safety:

Ensure compliance with all health, safety, and environmental standards across all sites. Tendering Support:

Collaborate with the estimating and pre-construction teams during the tender process, providing insights and technical input. Program Management:

Develop, manage, and review construction programs, ensuring efficient resource allocation and project timelines. Contract Administration:

Review and negotiate contracts, ensuring adherence to agreed terms and conditions. Risk Management:

Identify and mitigate project risks, ensuring smooth project delivery. Performance Reporting:

Provide regular updates and reports to the Senior Contracts Manager on project progress, issues, and key metrics. Essential Qualifications & Experience: Proven experience as a Contracts Manager or similar role within civil engineering, groundworks, or infrastructure sectors. Strong knowledge of residential and commercial groundworks as well as civil infrastructure projects. Familiarity with NEC, JCT, and other standard forms of construction contracts. Excellent understanding of health and safety regulations and practices. Demonstrated ability to manage multiple projects and teams effectively. Exceptional communication, negotiation, and stakeholder management skills. Proficiency in project management software and Microsoft Office Suite. Desirable Skills & Attributes: Professional qualification in Civil Engineering, Construction Management, or a related discipline (e.g., HND/HNC, degree-level qualification). Membership of a relevant professional body, such as the Institution of Civil Engineers (ICE) or Chartered Institute of Building (CIOB). CSCS / SMSTS Strong problem-solving skills and attention to detail. Adaptable and resilient under pressure with the ability to meet challenging deadlines.
