Clearfield Recruitment is seeking an exceptionally experienced Contracts Manager/Senior Contracts Manager on behalf of our well-established client in Colchester, Essex. The ideal candidate will have extensive experience in the groundworks and civils sector and will be ready to take on a pivotal role in managing high-value contracts and projects.

Key Responsibilities:

Oversee and manage multiple groundworks and civil engineering projects, ensuring they are completed on time, within budget, and to the highest quality standards. Develop and maintain strong relationships with large housebuilders and other key stakeholders. Lead project teams, providing guidance and support to ensure efficient and effective project delivery. Prepare and manage project budgets, forecasts, and schedules. Ensure compliance with all health and safety regulations and company policies. Conduct regular site visits to monitor progress and address any issues that arise. Manage subcontractors and suppliers, ensuring their performance meets project requirements. Report regularly to senior management on project status, risks, and any necessary adjustments. Drive continuous improvement initiatives within the projects and the broader business.

Requirements:

Proven experience in a Contracts Manager or Senior Contracts Manager role within the groundworks and civils sector. Strong track record of managing large-scale projects, particularly for housebuilders. Excellent leadership, communication, and negotiation skills. Ability to work under pressure and manage multiple projects simultaneously. Strong financial acumen and experience managing budgets and forecasts. Thorough understanding of health and safety regulations and compliance requirements. Valid driving license.

Preferred Qualifications:

Experience at a Contracts Manager / Construction Director level or equivalent is highly desirable.

Our client is a well-established company specializing in groundworks and civil engineering projects. They predominantly work with large housebuilders, with contract values ranging from £3m to £16m. They also handle occasional commercial projects and infrastructure works. All projects are currently within a 45-minute radius of Colchester, ensuring a manageable commute for the successful candidate.
