As our business continues to grow, we are seeking a skilled Contracts Manager / Senior Quantity Surveyor to join our team. This role will focus on the management of contracts, commercial agreements, and cost control, ensuring our projects are delivered efficiently and profitably. This is a full-time role, working 3 days a week from the office, 2 days remotely, ideal for a seasoned professional seeking flexibility while contributing to high-profile energy projects. Role Overview:

The Contracts Manager / Senior Quantity Surveyor will oversee the commercial and contractual aspects of projects within the Battery Storage and Gas Power Generation sectors. You will manage contracts, monitor costs, and ensure compliance with all project obligations, working closely with the project and operational teams. Key Responsibilities: Contract Management:

Draft, review, and manage contracts, ensuring compliance with legal and commercial obligations. Negotiate terms with clients, subcontractors, and suppliers to secure favorable outcomes. Manage and administer contracts, specifically FIDIC and NEC forms of contract, including identifying and mitigating risks and resolving disputes. Ensure all contractual obligations are met throughout the project lifecycle. Cost Management and Analysis:

Prepare project budgets, forecasts, and cost reports to ensure accurate financial control. Conduct valuations, monitor variations, and handle claims where required. Ensure cost savings and value engineering opportunities are identified and implemented. Tendering and Procurement:

Manage the tendering process for subcontractors and suppliers, including bid evaluation and contract award. Review and compare proposals to ensure best value and adherence to specifications. Commercial Reporting:

Prepare and present commercial reports for senior management, providing visibility on cost performance, risks, and opportunities. Support cash flow management by overseeing payment applications, invoicing, and collections. Collaboration and Communication:

Liaise with project teams, clients, and stakeholders to ensure smooth contract execution. Provide commercial advice and support to operational teams on-site. What We’re Looking For: Experience:

Significant experience as a Contracts Manager or Senior Quantity Surveyor within the energy, power generation, or construction sectors. Proven experience managing FIDIC and NEC contracts is essential. Experience in Battery Storage (BESS), Gas Peaking or construction projects is highly desirable. Knowledge:

Strong understanding of FIDIC and NEC forms of contract, including contract drafting, administration, risk mitigation, and claims management. Ability to resolve disputes and negotiate favorable outcomes. Skills:

Exceptional commercial acumen and analytical skills. Proficiency in cost control, valuations, and reporting. Strong negotiation and problem-solving abilities. Tools:

Competence with Microsoft Office, project management software, and commercial tools. Qualifications:

Degree or equivalent in Quantity Surveying, Construction Management, or a related field. MRICS or equivalent professional accreditation is a plus. Attributes:
