To provide Industrial Control and Automation (C&A) maintenance and engineering support to the Water and Wastewater Production, Catchment, Drainage Area and Network teams to maintain security of supplies and deliver the best quality water and wastewater services to our customers. To be part of a team providing an effective and efficient maintenance and repair service, thus ensuring the optimal availability of operational assets, whilst at the same time keeping within operational budget and quality performance parameters. The role will focus on minor OT modification requests from various business areas to provide process efficiency improvements and cost savings. Proactively engage with customers to understand their requirements and deliver meaningful outputs. An in-depth understanding of change control, producing and modifying FDS documentation, and testing and commissioning will be required. Job Accountabilities

Plan, manage and deliver small OT changes in accordance with UU change control procedures. Completion of testing and commissioning records following changes OT systems where appropriate. Ensuring software and engineering diagrams are stored on the relevant company approved repository. Provide an efficient C&A maintenance and installation service in order to achieve the quality, performance and safety standards of the Company. Analyse faults, rectify and ensure correct operation of C&A equipment, thereby optimising the availability of water and wastewater assets. Ensure compliance with all Health and Safety regulations and internal company policies. Carry out a programme of planned maintenance such as the timely replacement of PLC backup batteries and PLC software. Ensure all automation and control equipment with a software configuration or applications are securely backed up on to a centralised system. Assist in the optimisation of control systems and improving control system performance. Issuing and the administration of the CA authorisation permits. Ensuring the safety and quality of your own work and that provided by external contractors in the C&A field meets the required standards. Train and assess other FSEs and Apprentices thus enhancing the overall levels of technical expertise available to the Company. Provide reliable, accurate and complete asset performance and repair information for entry into corporate systems to support analysis and improved asset performance. Assist in the analysis and recommend solutions to recurring C&A problems, therefore ensuring that the treatment processes are operated with optimised efficiency. Ensure any identified critical or strategic spares are identified, maintained and available for use. Identification of investment needs and input into Problem Notes and relevant tier meetings. Required to work on a 24/7 callout rota is a key requirement of the role. May require lone working and providing input into capital and operational projects to ensure assets are fit for purpose. Knowledge and Skills

To have served a formal Electrical or Instrumentation apprenticeship and qualified to HNC/HND level in Instrumentation, Control and Automation subjects. Good understanding of Fieldbus and IP based communication networks and topologies. Good understanding of the operation and programming tools for multiple programmable logic controllers (PLC) used by the company, both legacy and current framework. Working knowledge of SCADA, HMI, Client applications on framework and legacy systems. Good knowledge of the point to point and multi point radio systems. Working knowledge of telemetry devices and wide area communication basics. Working knowledge of Information Security good practice. Full UK driving licence.
