Reporting to the Engineering Manager you will be responsible for the following control system engineering duties: Amongst other projects, responsible for continued development of an automatic control system to ensure that customers' products are dried to the required moisture content. Develop and improve user interface for ease of use. Rollout of updates to existing customers. Investigate cloud data collection and online web portals for customer access. Interpret PLC data into meaningful analysis and summaries. Assisting colleagues with developing improved control systems for machines and complete process systems. Working with the mechanical design team and implementing control systems to maximise the ability to automate wherever practical. IEC PLC programming languages in ladder and structured text. Codesys, Rockwell Studio 5000, Siemens TIA Portal. HMI programming; EasyBuilder Pro. Machinery related networking and network security. Fieldbuses including Ethernet/IP, Profibus, Profinet and CanOpen. Variable Speed Drive PLC software programming and parameter use; IMO, ABB. Soft starters, Star Delta Reversing, Direct Online motor starters. On site visits for trouble-shooting electrical and electro-mechanical problems. Commissioning of machines and systems. Remote office-based support and advice. Working to increase secure connectivity to alert operators to maintenance needs and allow remote troubleshooting. Collecting and using data from the process to inform operators, and to inform the design and development. Collecting accurate data on our machines. Involvement in our laboratory for developing machines for testing characteristics of different organic materials. Maintaining and developing relationships with Panel Builder and System Integrators and equipment suppliers. Reviewing control panel specifications and defining standard designs. Identify areas for development, and keep abreast of supplier side updates. Training, documentation and support. Control System Engineer requirements:
The right to work in the UK without need of sponsors. Electrical / electronic qualified engineer. Experience in PLC control / programming. Familiar with relay logic control panels. Some experience in 3 phase power electricals. With an interest in/connection with process industry/mechanical engineering. Interested, committed and thorough with open minded, positive attitude and analytical/problem solving mind. Good team player with strong interpersonal skills. Willingness to spend some time working at site in UK and Overseas. Control System Engineer package:
