Control Systems Development Engineer

and help shape the future of advanced diesel engines and hybrid power systems. Flexible working, 3 days onsite per week minimum - Tuesday and Wednesdays are set days onsite, to work collaborative within the team to take full advantage of the cutting edge facility. (3rd day is discretionary). This opportunity involves developing and improving high-tech engines and hybrid power systems that are cleaner and more efficient, helping to reduce their environmental impact. Here's what it means: What You’ll Be Doing: Designing Control Software : Using tools like Matlab, Simulink, and Stateflow, you'll create programs (or algorithms) that control how these engines and hybrid systems work. Testing and Tuning : You'll test the software and adjust it, so the engines and systems run smoothly, whether it's on a test machine, bench, or real-world equipment. Analysing Potential Issues : You'll identify and solve problems before they happen by conducting

FMEAs

and making improvements. Validation Testing : You'll run tests in simulations (SiL or HiL) or on real machines to ensure the software and systems work as intended. Troubleshooting : When issues pop up during testing or operation, you'll dig in to figure out what went wrong and fix it. Collaborating with Teams : You'll work with other engineers and experts to figure out what advanced diesel engines and hybrid systems need to perform well while being eco-friendly. What you need: Must-Have: A

technical degree

(mechanical, electrical, electronic, control systems, or automotive engineering) OR relevant experience. Hands-on experience designing software for

diesel engines or hybrid systems

being comfortable using tools like Matlab, Simulink, and Stateflow to create software for engines. Strong ability to translate customer needs into functional software. Familiarity with

FMEAs

and how to validate software. Great communication and a customer-first mindset. Nice-to-Have: Experience with

HiL testing

and writing automated tests. Knowledge of version control systems like
