5D Recruitment is proud to be working exclusively in partnership with a leading engineering company based in the heart of the home counties. Employing nearly 50 people, they design, manufacture, assemble, test, and ship bespoke machinery from their new, world-class facility.

They are market leaders in the concept design and manufacture of fully automated, high precision, bespoke machines which are used to complete complex functions required to guarantee the quality of the product. Working across a variety of industries, their main markets include the medical and scientific sectors.

This opportunity has arisen due to growth, and we are looking to recruit an electrical/controls engineer to meet the requirements of their new and existing customers and projects.

If you are a hardware design engineer wanting to learn software programming, or a software biased engineer wanting to learn hardware and electrical engineering, training and development can be offered.

What the Role Will Involve:

You will be client facing from the start of the process, working with clients to agree on the design specification, conducting regular client progress and design review meetings, through to final client acceptance of the machine. Coding of software, primarily in ladder logic, which could involve writing software from scratch or modifying existing code. Working primarily with Allen Bradley, ControlLogix software. Programming of HMI's and SCADA systems, calibration of robotic systems, and the instrumentation used to monitor the process. Being the point of contact for production during the build and test phase. Involvement in the installation, commissioning, and SAT process, which may require some travel to client sites.

What we are looking for in the Candidate: A background in control systems design from any industry sector. An excellent communicator who can liaise with clients and work collaboratively with the design team.
