Job Description:

We are seeking a highly organised and proactive Conveyancing Assistant to join our busy conveyancing team in Enfield. The ideal candidate will have a keen interest in conveyancing and will support our solicitors in delivering a high standard of service to our clients.

Key Responsibilities:

File Management:

Assisting with the opening, management, and closing of conveyancing files, ensuring all documentation is accurate, complete, and filed appropriately.

Client Communication:

Liaising with clients, estate agents, mortgage lenders, and other third parties to provide updates, gather information, and answer queries.

Document Preparation:

Preparing legal documents, including contracts, transfer deeds, and completion statements under the supervision of a conveyancing solicitor.

Searches and Enquiries:

Assisting with the preparation and submission of property searches, raising enquiries, and reviewing responses.

Post-Completion Tasks:

Managing post-completion processes, including dealing with registrations at HM Land Registry, handling stamp duty submissions, and ensuring all post-completion documentation is accurate and submitted within required timeframes.

Administrative Support:

Providing general administrative support, including filing, photocopying, and managing incoming and outgoing correspondence.

Case Progression:

Tracking key dates and deadlines to ensure smooth progression of files and updating the case management system accordingly.

Compliance:

Ensuring compliance with all regulatory requirements, including anti-money laundering procedures and client identity verification.

Person Specification:

Essential:

Previous experience in a conveyancing and familiar with Post Completions work.

Strong organisational skills with the ability to manage multiple tasks and prioritise effectively.

Excellent communication skills, both written and verbal, with a professional and courteous manner.

Attention to detail and a high level of accuracy in all work.

Proficiency in Microsoft Office (Word, Excel, Outlook) and experience using case management systems.

Ability to work effectively as part of a team as well as independently.

Ability to manage post-completion registrations and documentation, including HM Land Registry applications and stamp duty submissions.

Desirable:

Knowledge of residential or commercial conveyancing processes.

Familiarity with legal terminology and procedures related to property transactions.

Experience in a legal environment, particularly within a solicitors.
