Job Title: Café Cook
Location: Calow, Chesterfield, S44
Pay rate: £13.57 per hour
Days: 37.5 hours per week (to be discussed, possibly 8am-4pm, 9am-5pm or 10am-6pm)
Start date: Available immediately
Length of contract: Temporary ongoing
GI Group are now recruiting for a Café Cook for our Public Sector client based in Chesterfield. The Cook will work alongside a Chef and as part of the catering team in producing approximately 500 meals per day. The meals will mainly consist of a meat and 2 vegetable option, or a vegetarian option, as well as a weekly set menu. The successful candidate will prepare and cook meals to high standards whilst maintaining a clean, tidy, and safe department, ensuring the standard of service to is pleasant, efficient and all duties are carried out in line with the department's working procedures.
Main duties of the Café Cook
- Preparing and cooking food as per set recipes.
- Cooking and preparing elements of high quality and diet specific dishes.
- Ability to work under pressure in a timely manner.
- Maintaining a clean and safe kitchen environment and ensuring sanitation practices in the kitchen.
- Develop and maintain good working relationships with service users, visitors, staff, and Managers.
- Assisting other Chefs in the department.
- Helping with deliveries and restocking of all equipment and ingredients.
- Maintain clean and sanitary workstations.
Criteria of the Café Cook
- Food Hygiene level 3 or willingness to work towards (assistance can be provided by GI Group).
- Ability to cook with fresh ingredients from start to end product (set menu).
- Relevant experience of working in the catering industry and/or experience of working in a similar type of establishment.
- Ability to follow hygiene guidelines and adhere to health and safety policies in the kitchen.
