About Wintermute Wintermute is one of the largest crypto-native algorithmic trading companies in digital assets. We provide liquidity algorithmically across most cryptocurrency exchanges and trading platforms, a broad range of OTC trading solutions as well as support high profile blockchain projects and traditional financial institutions moving into crypto. Wintermute also has a Wintermute Ventures arm that invests in early stage DeFi projects. Wintermute was founded in 2017 by industry leaders and has successfully navigated crypto industry cycles. Culturally, we combine the best of the two worlds: the technology standards of high-frequency trading firms in traditional markets and the innovative and entrepreneurial culture of technology startups. To Wintermute, digital assets is not just another asset class; we believe in the innovative potential of blockchain and have a long-term view on the digital asset market. Working at Wintermute We are looking for a Core Developer to work on building out an automated trade reconciliation system. This is a greenfield project and you will work closely with the Lead Core Developer, CTO, Middle Office Lead, and traders. The solution will match order and transfer information from the large number of crypto exchanges that we trade on to generate near-live middle office confirmations and reconciled positions, live alerts, and historic reports. We are a Linux-based company and the solution will be built in Python and should interface with our C++ stack. It is going to be a very high-performance solution that should be capable of reconciling up to 100M transactions a day. The role is ideal for a candidate with strong Python skills who is interested in building new high-performance systems and developing their knowledge of system architecture, as well as finance and trading. Crypto exchange experience is not required, but interest in financial and crypto markets would be an advantage. Hard Skills Requirements 2+ years of experience in Python 3 (could be academic or personal projects) and having experience with C++ as a secondary language is an advantage Experience working with reconciliation, risk, or other middle office systems would be an advantage, but not required Experience building/upgrading and using SQL-based databases Familiarity with Linux, on desktops and servers Understanding of Git or any other source versioning systems Wintermute Offer A unique opportunity to work on very interesting projects, gaining levels of responsibility and ownership unlikely at other firms Join one of the strongest and most successful technology teams globally Great company culture: informal, non-hierarchical, ambitious, highly professional yet collaborative and entrepreneurial A cool office in central London Significant flexibility in regards to working from home and working hours Aligned incentive structure: a significant part of your compensation is performance-based, directly impacting your contribution Standard perks like pension, private health insurance, and free food We offer UK work permits and help in relocation Write to Us If You Love coding, problem-solving, and seeing your products work Love building things Are curious about algorithmic trading and financial markets Are determined, ambitious yet humble, willing to work hard and learn along the way Value meritocracy and being judged by what you deliver Prefer working like an owner rather than having a 9-to-5 mentality Tips for Successful Application Only apply if you are genuinely interested in this role; this is not for someone just looking for a job Do some basic research - look at Wintermute's website, LinkedIn, and Twitter channels Write a short, honest, and direct message if you'd like to apply. Tell us why you are interested in Wintermute and this role. Avoid generic copy-paste applications We are able to arrange UK visa sponsorship for the right candidates About the Company

Wintermute is a leading global crypto market maker. We partner with the world's best crypto exchanges and projects to provide liquidity. We are fully compliant and have decades of experience in high-frequency trading.
