Overall Purpose of The Job The overall purpose of the role is to ensure we are acquiring businesses for the Group at the right price in order to drive an increase in overall valuation for V.Group shareholders; supporting the key corporate objective of generating strong returns from the effective and efficient deployment of capital. V.Group strategy is to grow both through organic and inorganic channels. The structure of the recent sale of V. provides additional fiscal firepower to deploy on acquisitions; this role is key in ensuring we buy the right companies at the right price. The incumbent will act as a subject matter expert for valuation modelling across the Group, liaising with the corporate development team, finance, legal and other areas of the business to ensure the modelling is robust and synergies effectively estimated. The role will also involve working with our financial and legal advisors to ensure effective diligence and correct capturing of financials in the transaction documentation. In addition, the role will involve broader market analysis and research to identify key trends and impacts on valuations.

Key Responsibilities and Tasks Financial Modelling: Develop and maintain financial models to evaluate potential transactions, including valuation analyses such as DCF and creation of different valuation cases. Synergy Review: Work with the businesses to identify and quantify potential revenue and cost synergies for each acquisition, sense-checking and taking ownership of all key assumptions. Reporting: Prepare detailed reports and presentations for senior management and key stakeholders to communicate the outputs of the valuation models and detail the assumptions made. Due Diligence: Assist in the due diligence process for potential acquisitions, working closely with both internal and external stakeholders, with a focus on financial review. Market Analysis: Conduct industry research to identify key trends, precedent transaction valuations and potential acquisition targets. Monitoring & Evaluation: Track the performance of acquisitions, reviewing actuals against forecasts assumed in the model in order to understand where and why there are differences, and providing insights for future valuation activities.

Business Experience: At least 3 years directly applicable experience in valuations / transactions modelling.

Analytical Skills: Strong and proven ability to analyse financial statements, market data, and industry trends. High-level proficiency in financial modeling and valuation techniques. Ability to independently assess and generate a variety of valuation cases.

Technical Proficiency: Advanced skills in Microsoft Excel for financial analysis and modeling. Familiarity with Word and PowerPoint to effectively communicate model outputs to a non-finance cohort.

Communication Skills: Excellent written and verbal communication skills for creating reports and presentations. Ability to convey complex information clearly to various stakeholders. Ability and confidence to effectively communicate with all levels of the organisation, up to CEO / CFO.

Research Skills: Market research abilities to identify opportunities and competitive insights.

Project Management: Ability to manage multiple projects and deadlines effectively, demonstrating strong organisational skills.

Personality / Personal Experience: Strong interpersonal skills are required. Hands-on attitude, resilience with a high level of motivation and ability to act independently. Experience in collaborating and communicating with a diverse set of people, across organisational levels. Willingness to work in a fast-paced private equity related environment. Fluency in English is mandatory.

Desirable DESIRABLE:

Experience of working internationally would be advantageous but not necessary. Experience / knowledge of Maritime business services would be useful, but all necessary industry training will be provided for the role if not. Past exposure to a private equity setting would be advantageous but not necessary.
