Role Overview
You will have a dual reporting line to the Global Head of People Strategy & Platforms and the Global Head of Data Management and be responsible for developing & implementing the Corporate Functions data strategy & governance approach spanning HR & Finance. You will drive data transformation initiatives across Corporate Functions in support of broader leadership priorities and in line with the Schroders Data Office federated model. Working closely with various teams, including the Schroders Data Office, Corporate and Functional teams, and Global Technology, you will design and implement data products that solve business-wide challenges while prioritizing and structuring the data strategy.
What you'll do
Develop and agree the Corporate Functions data model, with an initial focus on core Finance and HR data;
Provide hands-on support for developing & integrating the new data concepts across Corporate Functions, associated transformation programmes, and the wider business where applicable;
Establish the future data operating model and governance for Corporate Functions going forward and
Act as liaison for Corporate Functions data into wider data forums and the Schroders Data Office, particularly focusing on how we ensure the data needs we have from other areas are considered in the solutions.
The knowledge, experience and qualifications you need
Bachelor's degree in a relevant field (e.g. computer science, data science, business administration);
10+ years of experience in a data-related role in Finance and/or HR, with a track record of success in developing and implementing data strategies and driving data transformation initiatives;
Strong leadership skills, with experience managing teams of data professionals;
Has demonstrated capability to deliver data projects;
Strong understanding of modern data principles, such as domain-driven design and decentralised data ownership, data product design, and their application in an enterprise setting;
Excellent communication and collaboration skills, with the ability to work effectively with stakeholders across the business;
Strong analytical and problem-solving skills, with the ability to use data to drive business decisions;
Experience with data governance, data quality, and data management best practices;
Experience with implementing data products to solve business needs, and using innovative technologies like AI, Snowflake and Power BI and
Knowledge of Oracle Finance and HR platforms would be valuable.
Objectives
Understand and establish current and future data needs of Corporate Functions, in the wider context of a changing Schroders business;
Understand and codify current strategic data architecture and assess suitability for meeting current and future needs, challenge strategic architecture and design blueprint if deficient;
Establish, embed, and own the strategic data roadmap for Corporate Functions on a 5-year, 3-year, 1 year horizon, and drive governance, decision-making, and communication of the roadmap, and associated changes and implications, across the wider organisation;
Establish business cases for roadmap initiatives, realisation KPIs, and then be hands-on in their delivery;
Ensure ongoing delivery of BAU data priorities;
Educate Corporate Functions to develop a data-driven culture and
Be a key enabler of the Schroders Data Office federated data operating model.
