Job Description
We are looking for a corporate lawyer to join our international wealth management team to support it with its legal needs. Although the role will be based in London, you will have the opportunity to work on deals and projects across our international offices. You will be a key member of the team, working directly with the Senior Legal Counsel and business leadership, and providing focused, accurate and timely legal advice, analysis and support to the business teams on a range of matters.
Job Responsibilities
- Providing legal and other support to the Senior Legal Counsel and certain of our teams to cover their legal needs, whether of a transactional, commercial, contentious or other nature.
- Managing legal documentation required for any particular workstreams from time to time, including negotiating agreements and other documents with third parties.
- Where appropriate, taking the lead on any transaction, joint venture or fund structuring and execution.
- Liaising with and managing relations with external legal advisers.
- Liaising with other members of the in-house legal, compliance, risk and finance teams.
- Assisting with the corporate governance matters.
- Staying up-to-date with legal and market developments.
Qualifications
- Qualified solicitor with a minimum of three years’ post-qualification experience from private practice (or a similar business).
- The candidate will support the Senior Legal Counsel in handling all of the businesses’ legal needs from time to time. A background in corporate law, investments funds or wealth management is therefore required, but with a willingness and ability to be flexible and to develop new expertise in other areas, such as employment law, commercial contracts, debt finance, financial services regulatory, litigation, data protection, and so on.
- Excellent verbal and written communication skills with the ability to negotiate and communicate confidently and clearly.
- Strong organisational skills with an ability to deliver within short deadlines and with attention to detail.
- Solutions orientated with a track record of execution.
- Team player, dynamic and collaborative with capability to work independently.
- Ability to think commercially and identify risks.
- An interest in ESG investing is encouraged.
