Experienced solicitors with 10 years plus PQE are invited to apply for this exciting opportunity to work within our Corporate Team on corporate matters. Successful candidates will be hard working and diligent team players who are ambitious and keen to lead on challenging and intellectually stimulating legal matters. Candidates will have a proven track record of success and should be able to evidence a proactive and effective approach to Business Development (BD). This is seen as a mid to senior-level role and we would look to support the right candidate with progression planning within Spire as part of our ethos of developing and supporting our staff. Candidates can expect to: Lead or assist in corporate transactions, corporate contracts, management buy-ins/outs, joint venture agreements, restructuring; Carry out reviews and develop reports and ancillary deliverables where required; Prepare transaction documentation and assist with actions required for varied transactions; Assist with/provide work production in support of other teams at Spire; Develop strong working relationships with partners and lawyers across the firm; Contribute to the identification of innovative services and methods to assist in achieving efficiencies and continual procedural improvement; Lead on active BD to develop client and referrer relationships. We would expect the successful applicant to demonstrate the following technical & personal traits: An open and inquisitive mind; A confident and effective commercial approach; Initiative, proactivity, maturity and gravitas; Strong service orientation - a "client-first" culture; An ability to develop strong relationships within Spire; High work standards and a keenness to learn; Flexible work practices; Outstanding communication skills and the ability to adapt style as required; An ability to work well in both a team and individually. We expect that the ideal candidate will be an experienced lawyer with excellent academic credentials and have appropriate experience in corporate/M&A work, including multiple types of transactions and due diligence/review. About the team: Our experienced LawNet 2024 nominated Corporate Team advises businesses and business owners, from incorporation and implementing key startups, to advising and supporting our clients in growing the business through acquisitions and entering key commercial contracts, managing risk, planning and updating business governing documents, and advising the business owners on successful exits including selling. Clients vary from local SMEs through to multi-million clients with an international reach.
