Purpose of the role:

To provide technical support to the local partners and client service teams, to develop the private client compliance and advisory client base in the South West through business development, networking and the establishment and maintenance of relationships with other professionals.

Client Focus:

Maintain strong, productive relationships with clients within the team’s portfolio, ensuring regular communication and handling specific tax queries.

Dealing with consultancy work – including some compliance as/where required - for personal clients, large corporates and Owner Managed Businesses.

Researching specialised tax issues and undertaking and managing advisory.

Lead and deliver on ad-hoc advisory projects, working collaboratively with the tax team.

Identify changes in UK Tax legislation, assessing their impact on clients, and promote relevant advisory projects.

Providing feedback and support to tax managers, directors and partners.

Maintaining proactive internal links between all tax functions in order to maintain a consistent approach to the provision of client services.

Supporting broader team development and assisting in firm-wide training activities as required.

Business Development:

Identify and share opportunities for additional services and generate innovative approaches to client concerns.

Support the wider team in engaging new clients, contributing to marketing efforts, and expanding your professional network.

Skills and experience:

Corporate Tax Expertise: Strong grounding in Corporation Tax fundamentals.

Commercial Focus: Strong commercial acumen, particularly within the private tax domain, ensuring that all advice is aligned with the client’s business objectives.

Proven Work Winner: Demonstrated ability to generate your own portfolio of clients, with a deep understanding of the high net worth world.

Sector Knowledge: In-depth understanding of the tax implications for all of our clients.

Collaborative: Able to work as part of a team and independently and be able to analyse information and situations to generate reasoned and risk-based recommendations and solutions.

Qualifications: ACA/CTA Qualified or equivalent.
