About the role

As the Cost Accountant, you will be responsible for overseeing the financial performance of bespoke manufacturing projects, ensuring accurate reporting, budgetary control, and adherence to financial standards. Working closely with project teams, you will provide financial insights, monitor project progress, and support the successful delivery of projects.

Responsible to the Financial Controller.

Duties Managing the financial oversight and reporting of assigned manufacturing projects, including monitoring budgets, forecasts, and cost variances. Preparing and analysing monthly project performance reports, including profit and loss, cash flow, and cost-to-complete projections. Collaborating with project managers to ensure financial goals are aligned with operational objectives. Overseeing project-related accounting tasks such as invoicing, payment approvals, and monitoring accounts receivable and payable. Ensuring compliance with financial policies, procedures, and internal controls for project accounting. Conducting regular reviews of project budgets, identifying risks, and recommending solutions to address financial challenges. Completion of monthly stock and WIP reconciliations. Supporting audits by providing accurate financial data for assigned projects. Continuously improving project accounting processes to enhance efficiency and accuracy. Assisting in the preparation of annual budgets and forecasts at a project level. Annual Stocktake co-ordination. The successful candidate

Will have strong experience in cost accounting, ideally within the manufacturing or engineering sector. Will have a proven expertise in financial analysis, reporting, and budget management. Will have advanced proficiency in ERP systems and Microsoft Excel. Will have exceptional attention to detail and a proactive approach to problem-solving. Will have excellent interpersonal skills, with the ability to collaborate effectively with project teams and stakeholders. Will have a positive and proactive attitude and be able to use their own initiative. Benefits
