Cost Controller
Our Client, an Oil and Gas Operator, is seeking an experienced Cost Controller to be based in Aberdeen on a 12-month contract.
Job Overview
Working within the Morecambe Hub Asset and supporting the Cost team, the Cost Controller is responsible for providing granularity and control to budget holders of operations, maintenance, inspection, modifications, and capital budgets. The role supports cost control of key services contracts and assures that the procure-to-pay process is being followed.
The Cost Controller will support all elements of procurement, variation control, time-writing, and cost forecasting to ensure proactive cost management aligned with workscope requirements.
Accountabilities
Review accuracy of key contract monthly cost reports, comparing with Business Plan; report variances and highlight waste and errors.
Identify trends, inefficiencies, and cost savings to drive inefficiencies from key contracts.
Review Change Order requests to ensure PO uplifts are raised and approved ahead of work starting.
Monthly Cost report accrual and forecast of OPEX, updating Cost trackers to support month-end processes.
Download data from SAP and provide analysis of VOWD. Liaise with JREs and Finance.
Provide timewriting analysis of all Morecambe operated assets and follow up with late timesheet entries.
Review and maintain Purchase Orders, ensuring they are current and old POs are closed out.
Provide assurance for new POs raised ensuring correct coding prior to being entered into SAP and that the Procure to Pay process is being followed.
Provide cover for Cost Assistant to raise Service/Purchase Requisitions and the Service Entry of invoices and pro-formas in SAP.
Review Rental hires to reduce waste.
Support Single Source Justification process with budget owners and supply chain.
Participate in relevant internal and supplier meetings.

Promotes a positive Incident Free Workplace culture by driving HSES and process safety performance and regulatory compliance through adherence to company standards and procedures, including the client CMAPP and HSES Policy.
Perform nominated emergency response role/duties and maintain the necessary competencies to perform these duties.

Competencies and Qualifications
Good numerical and analytical skills.
Strong presentation skills.
Previous experience in SAP preferable.
Competent in Microsoft Excel.
Self-motivated.
Pays close attention to detail.
Education
HNC in Business Management or a developing professional.
Applicant must have previous experience in Finance, Cost Control, or Commercial Administration, with a preference for a candidate with experience both in Operator and Contractor organisations in the Oil and Gas sector.
Candidate should preferably have experience in Budgeting, Forecasting, Cost Control, and the Procure to Pay process.
Must be a competent Microsoft Excel and SAP user.
