This is a rewarding role encompassing both housing and support - identifying and overcoming barriers to sustaining a tenancy and managing finances. You will work in the community with a variety of individuals delivering positive outcomes for both the tenant and SHDC as a social landlord. Do you have a gift for communicating with a wide range of people? This role will assist a variety of tenants presenting with tenancy concerns, complex issues, and multiple challenges, so excellent interpersonal skills are a must. You will be supporting residents in crisis by advocating and negotiating with partner agencies to keep tenants in their homes. Conflict resolution and mediation skills are key in this role to manage and resolve disputes involving tenants, working at the forefront developing excellent working relationships with organisations including Adult & Children’s Services, Police, DWP, Citizens Advice, and NHS services. If you have a background in social work, education, housing management, or a related field and are well-versed in housing legislation and welfare benefits in England, then we want to hear from you! We are looking for experience in providing support to vulnerable individuals and families, along with a proven track record in tenancy sustainment. Additionally, understanding housing law and legislation is crucial for this role, including tenant rights and responsibilities, eviction processes, and welfare benefits.
