The Role Join our team as a Cost Planning Manager, where you will play a crucial role in shaping the financial success of our projects. Reporting to the Preconstruction Director, you will lead a cost planning team and help drive digital transformation within the cost planning function. The Cost Planning Manager will be responsible for establishing robust and reliable early-stage project cost assessments and forecasts during RIBA Stages 1 through 3. You will lead a cost planning team, leverage historical cost data to inform supply chain and preliminary (Prelim) costs, and ensure the overall competitiveness and accuracy of first-stage bids. This role will also champion digital transformation within the cost planning function, driving continuous improvement in data quality, efficiency, and cost certainty. This is a hybrid role with a 3/2 split between our fabulous Old Bailey office and remote working (home). Key Responsibilities: Develop and maintain detailed cost plans that align with project requirements across RIBA Stages 1 -3. Establish processes to ensure high confidence in cost estimates from the earliest project stages. Identify cost drivers, risks, and opportunities within cost plans and recommend strategies for cost optimisation. Build and continually update a structured cost database using historical out-turn cost data. Lead, mentor, and develop a team of cost planners, estimators, and analysts. Drive digital transformation within the cost planning function to improve efficiency, transparency, and accuracy (digital tools, software, and methodologies). Critically review and challenge project costs during key project decision gates to improve accuracy and value for money. Ensure the team undertakes first-stage bids, ensuring that submissions are competitive, compelling, and reflective of robust early-stage cost planning. What We're Looking For: Expertise in cost planning during RIBA Stages 1-3. Proficiency in data analysis, cost databases, and digital tools for cost management. Knowledge of construction market trends and supplier engagement. Strong leadership skills with experience in team development. Ability to communicate effectively with internal and external stakeholders. Proficiency in cost management and estimation software. Experience implementing digital solutions to improve efficiency and accuracy. Skilled at identifying risks and opportunities in cost management. Strong analytical and problem-solving skills. Why Join Us? Be part of a forward-thinking team dedicated to innovative cost management solutions. Enjoy a flexible working environment with opportunities for professional development. Contribute to impactful projects that shape the built environment. Additional Information: At Willmott Dixon we provide an inclusive and flexible working environment for people to thrive in and we are happy to support agile working wherever possible. We are a proud member of the Disability Confident Scheme. About Us: We are proud to be part of the Willmott Dixon family; a privately-owned contracting and interior fit-out group in the UK.
