Costing Engineer Salary: £48,000 DOE + Benefits including bonus Location: Welwyn Garden City Days Only (Mon-Fri) gap technical are proud to be representing this global manufacturing business in their search for a Cost Engineer to work at their facility based near Welwyn Garden City. Performance Objectives

Develop NPI projects with all relevant departments and manage projects through to successful completion. Support commercial requirements of the department and all other departments. Produce estimates, technical and manufacturing proposals to support bids and new business development. Evaluation and analysis of customer datasets, specifications and condition of supply documentation in order to identify the need for raw material, bought out and subcontract requirements. Liaise with Engineering, Operations and Purchasing teams to prepare robust competitive proposals for customers. Be a catalyst for change by providing leadership to manage driving through improvements and changes. Ensure engineering and quality requirements for products are fully understood and met. Produce weekly and monthly quotation status reports. Chase through outstanding quotations via the Account Management Team. Produce and update monthly KPIs. Take actions to achieve targets. Develop, implement and sustain a safe working culture ensuring Health & Safety requirements are complied with. Liaise with other leaders and functions as necessary and support customer visits as required. Ensure that work is conducted in a safe environment according to safe practices - report deviation from H&S good practice immediately. Preserve a close and collaborative relationship with all departments. Assist the team with any ad hoc duties as required. Person Specification

Experienced in understanding technical drawings and BOMs with the ability to extract the relevant processes and materials for quotation. Experience in constructing a structured quotation from this information. Estimating and quotation work. Solid understanding of engineering principles. Knowledge of Health & Safety requirements relating to manufacturing. Desirable

Experience in the manufacturing aerospace industry. Knowledge of inspection procedures and standards. Knowledge of Aventa. Proficiency in MS Project and Visio. Apply
