The Role Our counsellors provide counselling, guidance, therapy and education for individuals and couples experiencing fertility issues. Counsellors are an important part of the clinical team supporting FA patients through treatment. Based in our Christchurch clinic, the counsellor will take virtual appointments for our clinic in Dunedin (3-4 per week), as well as any appointments for Christchurch patients as needed. This role is part time,

Wednesdays and Fridays . Key Responsibilities Organise, promote, and deliver a professional, independent counselling service to those involved in assisted reproductive treatments. Use therapeutic modalities consistent with health intervention and support. Work closely with the medical team to ensure clinical work and administration of the service are maintained to the highest standard and according to applicable professional standards, codes of practice and relevant governing bodies. Provide the highest level of support to patients. Skills and Experience, and Our Ideal Candidate A social worker, health or clinical psychologist registered (or eligible for registration) to practice in New Zealand, or a counsellor with professional membership in New Zealand who holds a Masters degree in counselling. The candidate must have at least a 4-year tertiary academic qualification from a recognised institution to be eligible for full ANZICA membership following training and supervision within the team. Have a keen interest in assisted reproductive technology. Any knowledge about current relevant legislation would be seen as an asset. Will be skilled in keeping accurate patient records, working with online medical IT and office systems, and in writing formal reports. Are able to manage own caseload and be able to work independently and within a team of multi-disciplinary professionals in a medical setting.
