You will have experience working with young adults and understand the varied issues that this age group can bring to the counselling room. You will be a key part of our support offer and will also advise all staff on improving student mental health.
About Us
Established in 2013, Newcastle Sixth Form College focuses on academic qualifications with an emphasis on providing students with the qualifications they need to progress to University. NSFC attracts students from over 100 schools from Newcastle and across the North East to access our dedicated facilities and broad A Level offer, with 27 subjects available to study. Our students choose NSFC for our inclusive approach. They welcome the opportunity to study subject combinations that allow them to progress, in an environment which bridges the gap between school and university. We have also developed a strong ‘respect’ ethos within the college and student feedback indicates that they feel safe and supported regardless of their background, gender, or other characteristics; this is because we strongly maintain that there should be no barrier to success at NSFC. As well as expert A Level tuition, we have an enrichment offer of over 40 activities designed to socially and physically develop our students and help prepare them for their next step. We are active members of both the Association of Colleges and the Sixth Form Colleges Association. We have 100 staff, around 70 of whom are teachers. The college offers the opportunity for enthusiastic subject specialists to focus on Key Stage 5 delivery, working with highly motivated students.
