About the role AUB is seeking a skilled and experienced counsellor to join the counselling team within Student Services. The post holder will support the coordination and delivery of a confidential single session counselling service to students, complying with the BACP Ethical Framework for the Counselling Professions. Counsellors autonomously manage a specialist caseload to ensure the AUB counselling service provides support to students at the point of need. Additionally, the post holder will provide counselling supervision to a small team of sessional counsellors. You will have a recognised counselling qualification and a minimum of one year’s post-qualifying counselling experience, together with in-depth knowledge of the BACP Ethical Framework for Counselling Professions. A counselling supervision qualification, BACP accreditation, and knowledge of working within a higher education context would be an advantage. This position involves working with children (under 18s) / vulnerable people and therefore requires compliance with the University’s Safeguarding Policies, including the requirement for enhanced Disclosure and Barring Service clearance prior to the commencement of employment. The successful candidate will be required to complete AUB approved Safeguarding Training.
