Mode Search is exclusively partnered with a Luxury Brand in their search for a Sample/Couture Machinist.
This beautiful luxury womenswear label has become known in the industry as the epitome of modern femininity. The British brand offers both RTW and a bespoke couture. This position would be based between both the store in the West End of London and their head office in Kensington, the successful candidate will report to the head of Atelier.
ROLE DESCRIPTION
- Produce first samples with high finishing techniques and skills.
- Work closely with the pattern cutters and workroom manager to maintain sampling standards.
- Advise the product developer, pattern cutters of potential construction problems.
- Ensure all products are always made to the highest quality.
- Alter all types of women’s clothing including Bridal Dresses
- Following quality control guidelines and inspect all garments to verify pristine condition before final delivery to client.
PROFILE
- 7 years of bridal wear or couture & high-end luxury womenswear product experience is essential to be successful in this role
- Working knowledge/experience of luxury fabrics, specifically Silk Twill, Double Satin, Silk Satin, Chiffon, Crepe and Lace
- Experience of working with a single needle, lockstitch machine
- Understanding of bespoke production
- Ability to produce made to measure with precise detail and high quality
- Flexibility required at peak times to manage workload.
- Ability to create a positive working environment where high standards and best practices are paramount
