We are excited to offer a fantastic opportunity for a Creative Arts Therapist to join a dynamic and supportive SEMH school in Chelmsford. This full-time, permanent role offers a competitive salary and the chance to make a profound impact on the lives of young people with social, emotional, and mental health (SEMH) needs. As a Creative Arts Therapist, you will play a vital role in supporting students' emotional well-being and personal development through the power of creative expression. Whether you specialize in art, music, drama, or another therapeutic discipline, your skills will help students build resilience, foster self-confidence, and develop essential coping strategies. This role is ideal for a compassionate and innovative therapist seeking to work in an environment where their expertise is valued. While previous experience in a similar setting is desirable, it is not essential, as professional development opportunities will be provided to support your growth in this rewarding career. Key Responsibilities

Deliver creative arts therapy sessions tailored to the individual needs of students with SEMH. Develop and implement therapy plans in collaboration with teaching staff and external professionals. Monitor and evaluate the progress of students, adapting interventions as necessary. Build positive relationships with students, staff, and families to promote emotional well-being. Contribute to a safe, supportive, and inclusive school environment. Maintain accurate records and uphold confidentiality in line with school policies. Participate in team meetings and training to support professional development. Qualifications And Experience

A relevant qualification in creative arts therapy (art, music, drama, or other therapeutic disciplines). Registration with a recognized professional body (e.g., HCPC, BAAT, BACP). Previous experience working with children or young people with SEMH needs is desirable but not essential. Strong interpersonal and communication skills. An empathetic and creative approach to supporting young people. A commitment to safeguarding and promoting the welfare of children and young people. About SENDirect
