This course is for enthusiastic beginners who would like to begin learning the tricks of the trade in upholstery crafts, from the construction of frames to renovating traditional pieces and reupholstering furniture. This qualification focuses on the design and upholstering of individual pieces of furniture, incorporating frame making, traditional and modern making skills, and planning out projects including fabric use and pattern matching. You’ll cover the safe use of portable power tools and look more in depth at the costing and planning of your projects, including sourcing materials for your items and renovations. Entry Requirements

No formal qualifications are necessary, just an enthusiasm to learn about furniture and upholstery. Assessment

You will be assessed on your project work within the College’s state-of-the-art workshops.
