The Creature Supervisor

will oversee the development of all Rigging and CFX of CG creatures from design and build stage to final render. Throughout the process, you will be supervising the pipeline and providing direction on architecture and methods, working with the Head of Creature and the Pipeline team to improve departmental efficiency. You will be communicating with other departments, while ensuring effective collaboration between your Creature TDs and related teams within the pipeline. A key facet of your role will be leading and mentoring your team through technical and creative challenges, to ensure only the best quality results are delivered. You will lead by example in implementing key challenging work yourself, and with on-the-spot guidance, as well as through planned training schemes implemented by you with our in-house trainers. Must Have

Proven high-end feature film VFX experience, featuring major creatures/characters on multiple projects. Thorough knowledge of most areas of creature specialization (Rigging, Muscle/Skin simulation, Cloth and Hair/Fur simulation). Full working knowledge of Maya. Comfortable with the more technical aspects of creature work, with strong critical visual and artistic skills. Familiarity with pipeline issues and a typical creature-heavy post production environment. Strong leadership qualities with proven ability and experience supervising teams. Desirable

Programming or scripting skills (MEL, Python, VEX). Experience with Ziva, Houdini, and USD. Experience creating crowd simulations. About You

Organized, pro-active, and a self-starter. A team player and clear communicator, with a keenness for collaboration. A team leader, approachable and personable, with strong motivational qualities. Adaptable and willing to learn new skills and techniques – including proprietary software. Calm under pressure and committed to meet production deadlines. A positive, can-do attitude.
