This is a growing business who have increased their employee numbers in the last year. You will be joining a social, friendly and evolving company and will have the opportunity to really add value to their finance team. The Credit Controller will report directly to the Finance Manager and will be responsible for managing consumer accounts in arrears, negotiating repayment plans, and ensuring the efficient recovery of debts. Working alongside the existing credit controller you will receive excellent training on internal systems and processes. Your role will look like this:

Proactively contacting customers in arrears via phone, email, or letter to recover missed payments on loans. Negotiating and managing payment plans for customers unable to clear their arrears. Establishing and managing repayment agreements with debt collection agencies and debt counsellors. Referring unpaid debts to an appointed legal advisory service and overseeing the recovery process. Managing voluntary arrangements in collaboration with debt agencies. Notifying and charging customers for any associated costs related to debt recovery. Maintaining accurate and up-to-date records of all debt-related activities. Implementing updates and changes to the company's debt management system as required. Preparing monthly debt reports for the Finance Manager and other relevant stakeholders. Collaborating with the Customer Success Manager to enhance the company's credit-check system. Recording and resolving any debt-related complaints. Is this you?

Ability to actively listen, empathise, and negotiate effectively with customers. Persistence, determination, and problem-solving skills. A collaborative mindset and ability to work well within a team. Proven experience in making sound credit decisions. Proficiency in recording and reporting financial transactions.
