With our range of specialist mortgages, savings accounts and business finance solutions, we're backing more people to go for it. We thrive by saying "yes" to our customers. We respect the ingenuity of entrepreneurs and their startups; we give first-timers a leg-up onto the property ladder; we open up the lending market to many; and thousands of customers chose MotoNovo Finance every week to buy their next car, van or motorbike. This is where you come in. We are on a journey. A journey defined by a destination; to deliver on our purpose. Let us tell a bit about the opportunity We have a new opportunity for a Credit Risk Analyst to join our Portfolio Management team; where you will analyse and interpret technically complex data in order to recommend appropriate solutions to the business. This is an integral role to the Motor business line so that clear and deliverable credit decisioning strategies can be developed, that help build growth in the balance sheet on commercially acceptable terms, whilst supporting business line objectives. As a Credit Risk Analyst you will interpret and utilise modelling concepts, modelled outputs and independent sources of benchmarking data in order to influence risk appetite and positively impact customer outcomes through delivery of a model driven automation agenda. This will include credit decisioning across the customer lifecycle (onboarding credit decisions, in-life credit stewardship, and early/late stage credit monitoring and management) in addition to pricing strategies. What will your day look like? As a Credit Risk Analyst you will be responsible for: Using portfolio metrics, financial data, KPIs and trends in these numbers to measure credit and wider business performance in a way that informs a customer-centric approach to making credit decisions. Review and refine credit lending criteria to enhance risk management practices. Working closely with the second line to identify emerging credit and macroeconomic risks. Understanding of the market dynamics which are driving changes in the value of new and used vehicles, making suitable and proactive adjustments in response to any perceived changes to the long-term underlying outlook for vehicle valuations. Monitoring the performance of the Motor portfolio at an aggregated and intermediary level, identifying and acting upon any changes to key underlying assumptions including margin, expected and actual credit loss, default rates, run rates and settlement experience. Extracting, manipulating, and analysing complex data sets using reporting tools in order to identify patterns and anomalies, uncover correlations, derive meaningful and actionable insights, and generate reports and dashboards to support data-driven decision-making that will add value across multiple business areas. What do we expect from you? Understanding of best practice in credit risk management, and credit scoring methods/application. Degree in a numerate subject and proven relevant work experience, coupled with knowledge of advanced statistical and analytical techniques. Experience in SAS is preferable, but R or other programming languages are also acceptable. Effective communicator, sharing insight that translates technical concepts into clear and understandable language, listening to and encouraging active collaboration amongst stakeholders. Experience of developing credit risk application models is desirable. Experience of creating dashboards in data visualisation tools such as Tableau is also desirable. Ability to work onsite in our Cardiff office 2 days per week. Still curious? Join us and we'll make the same promises to you as a colleague, as we do to each of our customers. We're committed to building a working environment that values respect, diversity, and compassion. We welcome people regardless of age, disability, gender identity, marital status, race, faith or belief, sexual orientation, socioeconomic background, and whether you're pregnant or on family leave. Please note: we have a thorough referencing process, which includes criminal record checks. The Company We're one of the largest lenders in the UK used car finance market. Behaviour Framework Our behavioural framework underpins our purpose and strategic drivers, as it outlines the behaviours we need to demonstrate in order to succeed. Where our strategic drivers (Stay Ahead Propositions, Relationships That Last and Progressive Platform) outline what we need to do to succeed, our behaviours guide us in how.
