This role pays a competitive salary of £40,000 - £50,000 depending on experience.
Responsibilities as a Criminal Duty Solicitor:
Represent defendants during hearings at the magistrate's court, often in the early stages of criminal proceedings. Offer guidance on criminal charges, the strength of the evidence, and potential consequences. Defend clients at bail hearings, first appearances, and sometimes during sentencing. Advise individuals detained at police stations during interviews and questioning.
About you as a Criminal Duty Solicitor:
Duty Solicitor Accreditation under the Duty Solicitor Scheme, usually including a police station accreditation. 3-5 Years PQE in Criminal Duty Solicitor. Dealing with high caseloads from start to completion in Criminal Law.
